Robert J. Bartosh, age 80, of Poteet, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in San Antonio. He is survived by his wife; Ollie Bartosh of Poteet; daughters: Diana Thompson and husband Billy of Hondo, Brenda Barbie and husband Herb of San Antonio; sons: Bubba Bartosh and wife Cathy of Utah, Ronnie Bartosh and wife Cindy of Forney; sister: Martha Harper of Arizona; brother: Steve Bartosh of Hondo; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bartosh is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Rosie (Makovsky) Bartosh and son Dale Ellison.

Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 West Oaklawn Rd., Pleasanton, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2011.  Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM Monday, August 8, 2011.  Interment will be at Rutledge Cemetery, Poteet. Serving as pallbearers will be Waylon Digges, Dwade Hickey, Dale Hickey, Scott Miller, Darrell Hickey, and Kevin Sparks. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Dan Bartosh. Jasik (ret), Lt. Col. Helen L.

1921-2012

Lt. Col. Helen L. Jasik (ret), passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 90.  She was born in Loire, (Pleasanton) Texas on April 18, 1921.  She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Agnes (Stryk) Jasik.

She is survived by her nieces, Mrs. Irene (Korus) Seiler and husband Harold of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Angela (Jasik) Kreusel and husband Rex of Amarillo, Texas; nephew Ernest R. Korus and wife Magdalen of San Antonio, Texas along with numerous grand nieces, nephews and friends.

Ms. Jasik was a resident of Morningside at the Meadows for the last fourteen years. She was known as a very loving and passionate person to her family and friends, always caring for many in times of need.  Helen graduated from the Santa Rosa School of Nursing in 1942, entering into the Army Air Corps in 1943 and was assigned to Wilford Hall Medical Center.  She was transferred to the Air Force in 1951 and served as a flight nurse with the Air Evacuation Unit for 2 years during the Korean War.  Due to the illness of her father, she had a break in her military service in 1952, then re-entered the Air Force in 1959.  She served four tours of duty; her overseas assignments included Puerto Rico and Germany as well as Hawaii.  Helen retired in 1976 and among her many decorations were included an Air Force Commendation Medal and a WWII Victory Medal.  She was a member of Santa Rosa Alumnae, Air Force Nurses Association, the Military Officers Association of America, Women in Military Service Memorial, St. Paul’s Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 W Oaklawn Road in Pleasanton, Texas from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2012.  A funeral service and mass will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Loire at 10:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2012, with Father Stefan Wiera officiating.  Interment to follow at St. Luke Catholic Cemetery in Loire.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that a donation to the charity of your choice be made in her honor.Anyone wishing to leave condolences for the family may do so at www.hurleyfuneralhome.com.

Bartosh, Tim A.

1958-2012

Tim A. Bartosh, age 54, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, in San Antonio following a battle with cancer. A long-time business owner and resident of Pleasanton, he was born and raised in Taylor as the third of five children. Hunting, golf and fishing were great sources of joy to Tim, along with the friends and family who joined him. He loved spending time at the family ranch in LaSalle County where he made hunters welcome and managed improvements.

Known as a good friend to all who knew him well, Tim is survived by mother Patricia J. Bartosh of Taylor; daughters: Katelyn Bartosh of Midland, Jessie Germain Pitre and husband Rodrick of Italy; brother: James E. Bartosh, Jr., and wife Debora of Granger; sisters: Denise Stevens and husband Ed of Austin, Jane Pucci and husband Dino of Dallas, Claire Rich and husband Mike of Dallas as well as nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Haley, Abby, Gabby, D.J., Will, Zoie, Lauren and Jack. Tim is preceded in death by his father James Edward Bartosh, Sr., uncle Timothy Daniel Bartosh, Jr. and niece Casey Nicole Phillips.

Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 West Oaklawn Rd., Pleasanton, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM Monday, May 7, 2012. Funeral service will be at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Jourdanton at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Pallbearers are Tim’s brother and brother-in-laws as well as friends Chuck Buzan, J. Leonard Burnett, Tommy Talley, John Mayse, Mike Yanity and Gaylan Bryan. Reception to follow at Pleasanton Country Club. Melba L. Novosad, age 77, of Jourdanton, passed away in San Antonio, Sunday, June 10, 2012.

She is survived by her husband Gus Novosad of Jourdanton; daughter Pat Pinchback and husband Tom of Fort Worth; brother George Boeker and wife Joyce of Niederwald, and sister Christine Ventrcek of Pleasanton. Melba is also survived by grandchildren and step grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents George Washington and Hilda (Baring) Boeker and daughter Laura J. Shoemake.
