Lidiak, Frank Jacob

frank lidiakFrank Jacob Lidiak, died Friday, July 30, 2010 in Arlington, TX after a long illness. Born August 8, 1929 to Cecilia Stainacher Lidiak and Frank Joseph Lidiak, Frank, was a 1947 graduate of LaGrange High School, a varsity basketball player and all state football player. Receiving scholarships offers from several state university’s Frank accepted a football scholarship at TCU. After completing his business degree Frank entered the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. Completing his service commitment, Frank began his professional career which spanned 38 years at Millers Insurance Agency. Then living in Windcrest TX 1969-1973 Frank was the community’s Mayor Pro Tem, Fire Chief, and Police Commissioner. After moving to Arlington, TX in 1973 to accept additional responsibility with Millers, Frank retired as Vice-President of claims in 1992. Frank continued his career for several years as a claims adjuster for Parker and Associates in Dallas, TX. A 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus, Frank was the Grand Knight for cancel 6269 in 1979. Frank was also a member of Rolling Hills Country Club and served on their Board of Directors. A great athlete Frank bowled a 300 game, 2 holes in one and an Eagle Scout.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Anne Lidiak, son Frank Jacob Lidiak, son Michael Thomas Lidiak and wife Jodi , daughter Marianne Lidiak Baker and husband Johnny. His brother Edward George Lidiak and his wife Carol Lidiak, 4 grand daughters and one grand son, many friends and relatives. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Frank and his wife Anne attend mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Arlington.

Viewing will be Thursday August 5, 6-8:00pm at Moores Funeral Home 1219 N. Davis, Arlington TX. A mass will be held in his honor at the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Friday, August 6, 10:00am located at 2100 North Davis Drive,

Frank’s graveside services will be held on Friday, August 6, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211

Stanek, Frank

Frank Stanek’s Remains Expected Friday or Saturday

A telegram was received Tuesday by Post Adjutant O. S. T. Meyer that the body of Private Frank Stanek, killed in France will arrive in Shiner Friday or Saturday of this week and the interment will take place on Sunday. Frank Stanek was wounded and died the same day as Private Joe Kolar and was in the same company. The battle took place in the Muese-Argonne. The Kolar-Stanek Post will be in charge and an effort will be made to secure the Legion Band of Gonzales, also Chaplain Ludwig to make the address.

Januse, Mary Frances (Elbrich)

Mary Francis Januse, 82, of Bryan, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Magnified Health & Rehab of Anderson in College Station. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, December 11, at Hillier Funeral Home. A private entombment ceremony will be held at the Monsignor Gleissner Memorial Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery immediately following the visitation.

Mary Francis was born to Frank and Mary Elbrich in Bryan, TX. Mary Francis was a laboratory technician for International Shoe Company and for Texas A&M University. She enjoyed spending time working and ranching on her property in Franklin. She enjoyed gardening and for many years would spend her vacation time with her family in Galveston. She liked cooking and baking especially for her grandchildren.

Mary Francis was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Frank Elbrich Jr., sisters, Ethel Zemanek and Margie Dileo, and recently by her husband of 63 years, Curly Januse.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Marq Hellman; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Carmen Januse, all of Bryan; grandchildren, Marq Hellman Jr. and wife, Melani, of San Angelo, Chris Hellman of Houston, Anda Patterson and husband, Greg, of Bryan, Niki Pratt of Bryan, Jeff Januse and wife, Amber, of Franklin, Jordan Januse and wife, Madison, of Bryan. Great grandchildren, Rosalyn and Chalon Pratt of Bryan, Parker and Sawyer Januse of Franklin, Katrina Rose Hellman of Trois-Rivieres, Canada, Caroline Hellman of Houston, along with many nieces and nephews. She is survived by a brother, John Elbrich and sister, Jodie Mikulin, of Bryan.

Milberger, Helen Frances (Luza)

Helen Frances (Luza) Milberger, 82, of Hearne, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012. Family will receive family and friends from 5 to 7 P.M. with a rosary recited at 6 P.M. Friday July 27, 2012 at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Hillier Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Wheelock Cemetery at 4 P.M.

Helen was born May 12, 1920, to Vince and Cecilia (Matous) Luza, in Bryan, Texas. She married James B. Milberger in 1949 and was a devoted wife, a loving mother and centered her life around her family. Helen enjoyed spending time sewing, crossword puzzles and fishing. She’s a past volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 63 years James B. Milberger of Hearne, two daughters, Linda Voiland and husband Gene of Bakersfield, CA, Debbi Hoehn and husband Dave of Sierra Vista, AZ, one son, James M. Milberger and wife Carla of Cypress Texas; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and her granddog. Also surviving are her brother, Anton C. Luza of Bryan and sister, Tracy Horn of Fort Worth.

Kizer, Esther (Schultz)

Esther Schultz Kizer, 81, of Austin passed away on Friday, April 30.

Born on June 19, 1928 to Herman and Alvina Poehls Schultz in Birch, TX, she was the second of five children. She married her husband of 62 years, Emil Kizer, on January 10, 1948 and they raised two children together. She worked many years for the Austin Independent School District, and was a long-time member of United Christian Church in Austin. Esther was a strong Christian, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and had the biggest, most generous heart a person could possibly have.

She is survived by her husband, Emil Kizer of Austin; son, John Glenn Kizer and his wife, Tammy, of Austin; granddaughter, Amanda Palm of Austin; grandson, Ryan Palm and his wife, Jennifer of Austin; and great-granddaughters, Haley Christian-Carole McFarland, Avery Claire, Payton Leigh and Gretchen Ray; grandson, Troy Palm of Eagan, MN; granddaughter, Katie Roberts and her husband Jason of Austin; and great-grandchildren, Ivan Oscar Rodriguez, Sophia Marie Rodriguez, Dominic Daniel Roberts, and Jeremiah Jason Roberts; grandson, Emil John Kizer and his wife Kristina of Austin; and great-grandchildren, Dante Marshall and Emma Jane; brother, Edwin Schultz and his wife Delphine of Bryan; sister, Mavis Outlaw of Brenham; brother Curtis Schultz and his wife Rada of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and countless friends.

Esther was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Kizer Feyen, and her brother, Herman Schultz, Jr. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5 at United Christian Church in Austin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Slumber Falls Camp, a Christian children’s camp in New Braunfels, TX.

Brinkman, Stonewall

Funeral services for Stonewall “Buster” Brinkman, 82, of Bryan are set for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Dime Box Brethren Church, with Pastor Jim Heckman officiating. Interment will follow at Hranice Cemetery in Dime Box. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mr. Brinkman passed away July 4, 2012, in Bryan, Texas.

Buster was born in Birdsong, Texas on December 31, 1929, and grew up in Deanville, Texas. He was the second youngest of nine children. During his teenage years, Buster worked in his father’s cotton gin, driving cotton to market in Bryan and selling it for his father. He joined the Navy during the Korean War, specializing in ship mechanics, and traveled the globe, including the Artic, Japan, and Korea. While in the Navy, Buster married his teenage sweetheart, Rose Marie Balcar. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage and three children ~ Keith, Dawn, and Kyle.

Buster attended Texas A & M University in College Station and earned a bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1959, which led him to the Texas oil and gas fields with Halliburton. A few years later, Buster secured a job with the IRS as part of the first ever Federal Petroleum Auditing Division, which he eventually managed and from which he retired. His IRS job afforded additional travel to Canada and many states throughout the United States, including Alaska and Washington DC.

Buster moved back to his beloved Aggieland in 2004, when he married Olga Marie Nimtz. During their seven year marriage, he and Olga enjoyed tropical cruises and vacations to various destinations throughout the United States.

Buster is a member of the Brethren Church, in Dime Box, Texas, and has been a dutiful servant in God’s churches throughout his life. He had a wonderful singing voice and sang harmony often and most especially enjoyed traditional hymns.

Buster is survived by son and daughter-in-law; Keith and Roberta Brinkman of Dime Box, daughter and son-in-law; Dawn and Jim Freeman of Mansfield, step daughters and husband; Sharla and Kendal Beason of Pearland, Susan Nimtz of College Station, brother and sister-in-law; Jimmy and Betty Brinkman of Deanville, sister and brother-in-law; Mildred and Doyle Weiderhold of Pasadena, grandchildren; Andrew Hayes-Stoker, Robert and Sarah Brinkman, Elizabeth and Matt Reiter, Celia Klorman, step grandchildren; Chase Ahrendt, Kaylee Beason, great grandchildren; Allyson Reiter and Jonas Evans and Ava Klorman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus Brinkman and Emma Fojtik Brinkman, two wives, one son, Kyle Richard Brinkman, and one grandson, David Keith Brinkman.

Nemec, Dr. Stanley J.

Dr. Stanley J. Nemec, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away at his home Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the age of 67.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating, where his life will be celebrated by family and friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Monday with a rosary service to be held at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Dr. Nemec was born in Bryan on March 9, 1939 where he was raised and later graduated from Texas A&M University with his Bachelor of Science degree in Entomology in 1965. Two years later, he graduated with his Master of Science degree in Entomology. In 1972 he earned his Doctorate in Philosophy. Dr. Nemec became self-employed as an Ag Consultant. From 1972 to 1998 he was the owner and director of Nemec Agriservices in Snook. In 1999 he was the owner and director of the Integrated Pest Management in Australia. With all of these accomplishments, his real love was for his grandchildren and fishing.

Dr. Nemec was preceded by his first wife and mother of his children, Patricia M. Nemec. He is now survived by his wife, Nancy Nemec of Snook; one son and his wife, Mark and Carol Nemec of Waco; three daughters and one son-in-law, Rachel Brimblecombe of Gunnedah, New South Wales, Australia, Lori Nemec of Walgett, New South Wales, Australia, and Jennifer and Jeff Maca of Randolph, New Jersey; and the love of his life, six grandchildren, Cassidy Nemec of Waco, Tyler Brimblecombe of Australia, Samuel Cox and Allison Cox, both of Dumas, Texas, Matthew Maca and Nathan Maca, both of Randolph, New Jersey; one brother and his wife, Frankie and Pat A. Nemec of Bryan; one sister, Rosemary Gesford of Tyler, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Nemec Memorial Scholarship Fund, TAMU Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, TX 77845, attention Ann Lovett; or to the St. Joseph School Fund.

Zemanek, Mary V. (Luza)

Services for Mary Luza Zemanek, 86, of Bryan are set for 10 A.M. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.

Monsignor John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Monsignor Gleissner Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:30 to 8 P.M. Sunday and from 8 to 9:30 A.M. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A rosary will be recited at 3 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Zemanek died Friday June 1, 2004 at her home.She was a lifelong resident of Bryan and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Mount Carmel Rosary Guild and was a member and former state director of the K.J.Z.T.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Louis M. and Helen Zemanek of Jacksonville, Fla., and Charles R. and Joyce Zemanek of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Cecilia and Pat Whelan of Bryan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vince and Judy Luza and Anton and Willie Ann Luza, all of Bryan; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Tracy Horn of Fort Worth and Helen and James Milberger of Wheelock; a sister-in-law, Lydia Luza of Bryan; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Luza, Cecilia (Matous)

Funeral Service of Brazos Woman Friday Morning

Mrs. Cecilia Matous Luza, aged 37 years, wife of V.A. Luza of Brazos county died a at the family farm home three miles east of Bryan Wednesday night at 11 o’clock, following a brief illness. The funeral will be held at the home Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock and at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10 o’clock, with Rt. Rev. J. E. Gleissner conducting the services. Interment will be made in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Cecilia Lua is survived by her husband and seven children; three sons and four daughters. Charles, Vince and Anton Luza, of Bryan; Mrs. Louis Zemanek of Bryan and Misses Cecilia, Tracy and Helen Luza, in the home. Her parents also survive, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Matous of Bryan, and three brothers and one sister.

Fojtik, Edith J. (Brinkmann)

Services for Mrs. Edith J. Brinkmann Fojtik, 81, of Caldwell are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Caldwell. The Rev. Emelian Foltyn, pastor, will officiate.

A rosary is scheduled for 8 p.m. today in the chapel of the Phillips and Lucky Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fojtik died Wednesday night in a Caldwell hospital. She was born Feb. 3, 1898 in Burleson County, where she lived most of her life. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors included three sons, Emil J. Fojtik, of Round Rock, J.D. Fojtik of Houston, and Jimmy A. Fojtik of Austin, six daughters,Mrs. Calvin (Angelina) Morriss of Austin, Mrs Russell (Hattie) Graves of Austin, Mrs. Charles (Mary Ann) Barak of Ausitn, Mrs. Doc (Rosalee) Weatherford of Clovis, N.M., Mrs. Charles (Lydia) Luza of Bryan, and Mrs. J.T. (Grace) Rosenkrantz of Freeport.

Two brothers, Eugene Brinkman of Somerville and Ed Brinkman of Brazoria; three sisters, Mrs. Parrot of Caldwell, Mrs. Wilimenia Wilhelm of Houston, and Mrs. Viola Kaiser of Austin. 32 grandchildren, 31 great- great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
