Kizer, Esther (Schultz)

Esther Schultz Kizer, 81, of Austin passed away on Friday, April 30.

Born on June 19, 1928 to Herman and Alvina Poehls Schultz in Birch, TX, she was the second of five children. She married her husband of 62 years, Emil Kizer, on January 10, 1948 and they raised two children together. She worked many years for the Austin Independent School District, and was a long-time member of United Christian Church in Austin. Esther was a strong Christian, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and had the biggest, most generous heart a person could possibly have.

She is survived by her husband, Emil Kizer of Austin; son, John Glenn Kizer and his wife, Tammy, of Austin; granddaughter, Amanda Palm of Austin; grandson, Ryan Palm and his wife, Jennifer of Austin; and great-granddaughters, Haley Christian-Carole McFarland, Avery Claire, Payton Leigh and Gretchen Ray; grandson, Troy Palm of Eagan, MN; granddaughter, Katie Roberts and her husband Jason of Austin; and great-grandchildren, Ivan Oscar Rodriguez, Sophia Marie Rodriguez, Dominic Daniel Roberts, and Jeremiah Jason Roberts; grandson, Emil John Kizer and his wife Kristina of Austin; and great-grandchildren, Dante Marshall and Emma Jane; brother, Edwin Schultz and his wife Delphine of Bryan; sister, Mavis Outlaw of Brenham; brother Curtis Schultz and his wife Rada of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and countless friends.

Esther was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Kizer Feyen, and her brother, Herman Schultz, Jr. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5 at United Christian Church in Austin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Slumber Falls Camp, a Christian children’s camp in New Braunfels, TX.
