Fojtik, Dorothy Maie (Richter)

Dorothy Mae Richter Fojtik, 87 years old and a lifetime resident of Columbus Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 27th with her son by her side in Columbus. She was born on December 3, 1924 in Columbus, Texas to Charles Richter and Katie (Anderson) Richter.

She fought a long, difficult illness that took away her simplest pleasures in life. She loved music and found so much joy in singing and playing her instruments and anyone that knew her, also knew she loved Elvis Presley. She treasured all of her photos of family and friends and loved to sit around and look through them. She enjoyed crocheting, watching funny movies, and writing to her pen pals from all over the world. She couldn’t wait to open the mail box everyday to see what kind of cards or letters she had received from family and friends. Our mother was a very compassionate woman who loved everyone and would share what little she had.

We can find peace, knowing that our mother was a Christian and is now in heaven with our Lord and is no longer suffering. God truly blessed us with a wonderful Mother that loved us dearly and all of our most precious memories of her will be in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

She is survived by her two sons, Harold Rollins Jr. and wife Brandy, Ronald Rollins Sr. and wife Janie; daughter Cathy Meuth and husband Dwaynne; grandsons, Ronald Rollins Jr., Carey Rollins; step grandsons Chris Meuth, Rick Humphrey and George Humphrey; granddaughters, Robin (Rollins) Malak; Caitlin Meuth, step granddaughter Holly Meuth; great grandchildren, Teara Paszkowski and Tyler Paszkowski and one great-great granddaughter Carrianne Rollins. Nieces and nephews, Shirley Tripplet and her husband Lawrence, Verna Jean Buchanan, Margaret Frances Loewen, Marsha Richter, Barbara Richter Dancer, Vivian (Dolly) Robertson, Howard Shultz, Alma Shultz Smith, Bennie Shultz, John Shultz, James Shultz and Anna Mae Shultz Blanton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolf Fojtik, parents Charles W.D. Richter and Katie Mae (Anderson) Richter, siblings, Linzie Turner, Ben Henicke, Walter David Richter, Josie ( Henicke) Shultz, and Margaret Lucille Richter Bryant.

Visitation will be held on Friday, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, and at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus on Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
