Matustik, Willie Emil

Willie Emil Matustik, who passed away Thursday, January 26, 1989 in Johns Community Hospital in Taylor, at the age of 91.

Rosary was recited Friday, January 27th at 7 p.m. at the Condra Funeral Home in Taylor.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 28th at 10 a.m. in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger with Msgr. Edward Rabroker officiating.

Brother Matustik was born May 23, 1897 in Lavaca County, Texas.  On September 28, 1948 he married Julia Dobias.  He was a World War I veteran and a retired farmer.  He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, SPJST and Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church in Granger.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Matustik; brother, Ludwig Matustik of Schulenburg; a nephew, Don Dobias of Austin and several nieces and nephews.

Brother Matustik was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

May our brother rest in peace.

Bartosh, Tim A.

Tim A. Bartosh, age 54, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, in San Antonio following a battle with cancer. A long-time business owner and resident of Pleasanton, he was born and raised in Taylor as the third of five children. Hunting, golf and fishing were great sources of joy to Tim, along with the friends and family who joined him. He loved spending time at the family ranch in LaSalle County where he made hunters welcome and managed improvements.

Known as a good friend to all who knew him well, Tim is survived by mother Patricia J. Bartosh of Taylor; daughters: Katelyn Bartosh of Midland, Jessie Germain Pitre and husband Rodrick of Italy; brother: James E. Bartosh, Jr., and wife Debora of Granger; sisters: Denise Stevens and husband Ed of Austin, Jane Pucci and husband Dino of Dallas, Claire Rich and husband Mike of Dallas as well as nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Haley, Abby, Gabby, D.J., Will, Zoie, Lauren and Jack. Tim is preceded in death by his father James Edward Bartosh, Sr., uncle Timothy Daniel Bartosh, Jr. and niece Casey Nicole Phillips.

Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 West Oaklawn Rd., Pleasanton, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM Monday, May 7, 2012. Funeral service will be at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Jourdanton at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Pallbearers are Tim’s brother and brother-in-laws as well as friends Chuck Buzan, J. Leonard Burnett, Tommy Talley, John Mayse, Mike Yanity and Gaylan Bryan. Reception to follow at Pleasanton Country Club. Pospisil, Helen M. (Horak)

Helen M.Pospisil, 85, of Taylor, Texas passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Granger Villa Nursing Home.

She was born on August 3, 1926 in Granger, Texas to Charles and Annie (Zbranek) Horak. On March 8, 1945, she married M.W. (Jessie) Pospisil in Granger, Texas. Helen was an excellent seamstress along with embroidering quilt tops for her family. She was an outstanding cook and baker, her specialty being baked goods and her famous kolaches. Helen had some of the prettiest elephant ears and flowers in her yard. She also received yard of the month. Helen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Altar Society, KJZT, Catholic Daughters, and SPJST Lodge 29. She was a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store.

Helen is survived by her son Jesse Pospisil and wife, Linda of Taylor and daughter Peggy Dewbre and husband Kevin of Comanche, Texas; granddaughters, Tammy Whatley of Georgetown and Cristy Girod and husband Mike of Elgin, grandsons, Matthew Dewbre of Bedford, Texas and Michael Dewbre and wife Holly of North Richland Hills, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Collin Whatley, Brandon and Hailey Girod, Kaylie, Riley, Hayden and Emma Dewbre.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie, her parents, one sister and three brothers and one grandson.

Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor on Monday, February 27, 2012 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, with rosary following. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Monsignor Lonnie Urban will be officiating. Memorials may be made to The Czech Heritage Museum and Genealogy Center, c/o of Jesse Pospisil, 4710 FM 1331, Taylor, Texas 76574 or the charities of your choice.
