Pustejovsky, Bellinda (McFarlin)

Bellinda Pustejovsky of El Campo died December 30, 2012 at the age of 73. She was born May 31, 1939 in El Centro, CA. She was a secretary for Rioux Hardware for over 40 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Philip Church and Catholic Daughters of America #1374, where she recently had served as secretary.

She is survived by her daughter Becca Socha and husband Darryl, and grandson Zach Socha, all of El Campo, her mother Ruth McFarlin of El Centro, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. P. Pustejovsky, father William McFarlin and step-father Joe Elder.

A Memorial Mass will be held 4:30 pm Thursday, January 3, 2013, at St. Philip Catholic Church with Reverend Gary Janak officiating. The Catholic Daughters will have a rosary at 4:00 pm, prior to the Mass. Arrangements are under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.

Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Pustejovsky may be made to St. Philip School, El Campo Little League, ECVFD or El Campo EMS.

Julius G. Jalufka

HALLETTSVILLE—Julius G. Jalufka, 78, a retired Hallettsville banker, died at 2:45 a.m. Friday in a San Antonio hospital.

Mr. Jalufka was born April 6, 1891, in Moravia, Tex. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 2433 and the SPJST Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Miss Mary Pustejovsky.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Kubena Funeral Home Chapel and 3:30 p.m. at the Moravia Catholic Church with burial in Moravia Catholic Cemetery.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Frank Polasek of Hallettsville; Mrs. James Bradecky Jr. and Mrs. Otto Petter of El Campo and Mrs. Alley Vsemer of Fredericksburg; a son, Lawrence A. Jalufka of LaGrange; five sisters, Mrs. Helen Mikulenka and Mrs. Ollie Brauner of Hallettsville, Mrs. Lillian Blahuta of Moravia, Mrs. Carrie Ford of Houston and Mrs. Willie Mae Maxora of El Paso; two brothers, Jerome Jalufka of Robstown and Jim Jalufka of Kerrville; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pustejovsky, Jerrilyn Marie (Noska)

Jerrilyn Marie (Noska) Pustejovsky, 53, of Columbus, Texas, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, September 13, 2012.

Jerrilyn was born in Houston, Texas on October 26, 1958, the daughter of Gladys (Pfertner) Noska of Houston and the late Jerry Noska. She married Kenneth Pustejovsky on January 18, 2004 in Wallis, Texas.

Jerrilyn was a hard worker and took delight in the simple things of life. She was never afraid to try new things and had many different occupations throughout her lifetime which lead her to open Jerrilyn’s Hair Salon in Wallis, Texas for four years. She eventually became a homemaker after her many years of hard work. Jerrilyn was a wonderful cook and loved taking care of her family and enjoyed rescuing animals. She had a love of life that showed in everything she did. She was blessed to have many friends that supported her.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Pustejovsky; son, Jeremy Muske and wife, Michelle, of Ellinger, daughter, Jamielyn Warren and husband, Lawrence, of Katy; stepson, Nicholas Pustejovsky and stepdaughter, Lisa Kanak and husband, Bennie, of Wallis; mother, Gladys Noska of Houston; father and mother-in-law, Leroy and Lil Pustejovsky of Wallis; brother, Randy Noska and wife, Dinah, of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Margaret Pustejovsky of Wallis; six grandchildren: Rebecca, Desirae, Hunter, John, D’Artagnan, Ethan; great grandchild, JaeLynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, Joe and Mary Pfertner, Rudolph and Emillie Noska, and Godparents, Leo and Josephine Noska.

Cernosek, Margie “Mema” (Pustejovsky)


Margie “Mema” Cernosek, age 75, of West, passed away Saturday evening, March 20, 2010 at West Rest Haven in West.

A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek and Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cernosek was born on February 8, 1935 in Penelope, the daughter of Willie and Bertha (Kubala) Pustejovsky. She attended schools in Penelope and Abbott and graduated from Abbott High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1952. On May 28, 1952 she was united in marriage to C. W. Cernosek in Abbott. Margie was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughter’s of America Court #829; K.J.Z.T. Society #11, Catholic Life Association, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, ran the West Summer League concession stand for several years, was a charter member and volunteer of West Volunteer Ambulance Association, a volunteer for the Westfest each year, Director and charter member of West Fraternal Auditorium and was instrumental in the construction, a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society and West Fair and Rodeo Association. Margie worked for Fashion Fabrics and the Ben Franklin Store in West. After raising a family, at the age of 39, Margie went to LVN school at the West Community Hospital taught by Bettye Holzmann. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Labor and Delivery for the West Hospital, where she also taught Lamaze classes for several years until her retirement. Margie enjoyed sewing, reading, working crossword puzzles, journaling, dancing, and traveling to such places as Czechoslovakia, Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Canada, London, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Atlantis, Guadalajara, and Mexico. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cernosek.

Survivors include her faithful and beloved husband of 57 years, C.W. Cernosek of West; three sons, C. W. “Butch” Cernosek Jr. and wife Sharon of Sachse, Richard Cernosek and Sandy Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Donald Cernosek and wife Paula of West; four daughters, Denise McGuire and husband Dean of Midlothian, Carol Bartosh and husband Tommy of Duncanville, Joanie Crain and husband David of Grabill, Indiana, and Julie Freeman and husband Richard of Dawson; 19 grandchildren, Risha Beasley and husband Craig, Corby LaCroix and wife Cari, Miki Cernosek Land, T.J. Bartosh and wife Nicole, Clifford Bartosh and wife Michelle, Weston LaCroix, Marty Cernosek, Craig Bartosh and wife Melissa, Audra Lansdown and husband Trevor, Tammy Rios and husband Aaron, Christopher Cernosek, Leslie Cernosek, Molly Cernosek, Jade Crain, Lisa Cernosek, Grace Crain, Benjamin Freeman, Catherine Bartosh, and Joshua Freeman; 9 great grandchildren, Haley, Jacob, Trevor, Abby, Kate, Owen, Parker, Emma, and Tatum; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are her grandsons and honorary pallbearers are employees of West Rest Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Rest Haven Activity Fund, West Volunteer Ambulance Association, West Youth Baseball/Softball League, or to the charity of your choice.
