Annie R. Salik, 87, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Saturday, January 12, 2013.
Annie was born on July 10, 1925 to Joe L. and Annie (Patak) Nekuza. She grew up in Ennis and attended St. John Schools. On November 17, 1942 she married Emil J. Salik and they made their home in Ennis.
She worked for St. John Catholic School for several years in the cafeteria. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT #16, WFLA and the Alter Society. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She is survived by sons: Bobby Salik and his wife, Robby, Jimmy Salik and Michael Salik all of Ennis; daughters: Irene and her husband, Robert Jurica, Doris and her husband, Murray Strunc all of Ennis; eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emil J. Salik on March 7, 1974, son Marvin Salik and brother Jodie Nekuza.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
The family request memorial to be made to St. Joseph Cemetery in Annie’s name.
