Richard Lee Staha of El Campo passed away December 31, 2012 at the age of 74. He was born August 31, 1938 in Hallettsville to the late Jerome and Frances Kovar Staha. He worked at Nightingale Hospital for 15 years as an accountant and administrator, and then worked in dental sales for 18 years before retiring. He served in the U. S. Coastguard Reserves, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 2490.
He is survived by his daughters Shannon Fuechec and husband Todd of El Campo, and Shawn Wagner of Richmond; grandchildren Blaine and Tate Fuechec, and Gates and Trace Wagner; brothers Monte Staha of Gravette, AR and Ronnie Staha of Panama City, Panama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 39 years Gaynelle Schroeder Staha.
Visitation will begin 2:00 pm Thursday at Triska Funeral Home with a KC Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday, January 4, 2013, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Reverend Gary Janak officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorial donations in memory of Richard Staha may be made to Houston Hospice-El Campo or St. Philip School Endowment Fund.
