Lillie (Elsik) Kasparek, 74, of La Grange, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August, 30, 2012.

Lillie and her twin sister were born July 15, 1938 in Fayetteville, Texas, the daughters of Joe and Frances (Marusik) Elsik. She married Percy Lee Kasparek on May 8, 1960 in Fayetteville, and then moved to La Grange.

She worked in Columbus for the Colorado County Tax Office and then 18 years for GTE as a switchboard operator and later as Assistant Traffic Supervisor. Then she worked at Walmart for 13 years. She was a great cook, enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her beloved partner of 37 years, Melvin Schoenst of Carmine; her daughters: Wanona Posas and husband, Pete “Tootie” Posas, of Giddings, Lacinda Kasparek and husband, Frank Rodriguez, of Round Rock; two grandchildren: Pete Posas of Pflugerville and Joshua Posas of Giddings; three sisters: Gladys Colley of Hewitt, Millie Ruffin of Austin, and Nollie Odle of Northcrest; two sisters-in-law: Elaura Neumann of Shelby, Angeline Zwernemann and husband, Lloyd, of Carmine; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Lee, her parents, and an infant brother, Jimmy Elsik, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gus and Irene Kasparek, and three brothers-in-law: Woodrow Colley, Milton Neumann, and Elward Ruffin.

She will be remembered as a beloved partner, loving mother and nana. She will be greatly missed, but will live in our hearts forever.

The Kasparek family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the following: Dr. Carlos Rubin De Celis and Roxanne Sparks (Texas Oncology and staff), Dr. Gagneja (Austin Gastroenterology and staff), St. David’s Hospital and staff, La Grange EMS, St. Marks Hospital and staff, Dr. Bill Nolen, Pastor Sid Roden and Jen Kindsvatter (St. Paul Luthern Church) and to all our friends and family for their kindness, love and prayers during our time of need.
