Repka, Frank Joseph


Frank Joseph Repka was born on February 20, 1923 in Poth, Texas, and went to rest with our Lord on March 11, 2010.  He was 87. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Repka, his mother, Adela Repka, and his brother Ludwig Repka. Frank is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Repka, son Michael Andrew Repka and wife Staci, son Myron Anthony Repka and wife Dana, and grandsons, Michael Anthony Repka, Jonathan Dane Repka, Andrew Joseph Repka, Walker Rix Repka, and grandaughters, Alexi Lynn Repka, Brett Ashley Repka, and Jordyn Elizabeth Repka.

Frank was awarded the eagle scout badge in 1939, he served in the United States Navy during WWII as a sonar operator.  He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters, after the war, Frank attended the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with a B.S. in pharmacy in 1948. He married his wife Elizabeth (known to most as Eby) Moczygemba in 1950, and moved to Pleasanton to work as a pharmacist, He established his own business, Center Pharmacy, in 1961 and served his profession for 60 years.  Frank was a past member of the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Order of the Alhambra, and the St. Andrews Mixed Club. Frank was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed baseball, collecting, and western art.  He was a gentle man with a kind spirit.  He will be missed by many.

Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Michael Repka (grandson), Jonathan Repka (grandson), Andrew Repka (grandson), Kurt Warnken (friend), James Warnken (friend), Chance Kutac (future grandson-in-law), Serving as honorary pallbearers Forrest C. Balser (brother-in-law), Charles Warnken (friend), Frank “Butch” Tudyk (friend), Gerald Phillips (friend), Bobby Rodriguez (friend), Eliseo Flores (friend).  Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 W. Oaklawn Rd., Pleasanton, Texas from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a vigil service to be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 16, 2010.  A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Pleasanton at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 17, 2010.  Interment will be at St. Andrew #2 in Pleasanton, Texas.
