Bartos Jr., Justin Victor


Justin Victor Bartos, Jr., 82, of La Grange, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills, Texas.

Justin was born in Ammannsville, Texas on March 5, 1929, the son of the late Justin Victor Bartos, Sr. and Vlasta (Bohac) Bartos. He married Laura Bohlmann on January 24, 1954 at St. Rose Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg, Texas.

Justin was a Pharmacist for 55 years. He worked at Schroeder Drug until 1978 when he purchased Hermes Drug Store. He retired in 1995 and then worked part time for The Apothecary in Schulenburg and Brookshire Bros. Pharmacies until 2010.

Justin was raised in Ammansville. He attended La Grange High School and played football on the 1947 Bi-district Champion Leopard team. He served in the U.S. Army as part of the occupational forces in Germany following WWII. He returned to Texas and graduated from the University of Texas School of Pharmacy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 102, the Holy Name Society and was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus. He was a past president of the Evening Lion’s Club, La Grange Little League and Colorado Valley Pharmaceutical Association. He was member of Sacred Heart Parish.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Bartos of 57 years; daughter, Jacquelyn Posey of Denver, CO; two sons: John Otto Bartos and wife Kimberley of Bothell, WA; Dr. Justin Victor Bartos, III and wife Sheryl (Adamcik) of Bedford, TX; brother, Leonard Bartos and wife Dorothy of Weimar; brother-in-law, Leo Janda of La Grange; seven grandchildren: Kenner Lee Bartos, Mark Joseph Bartos, Hannah Laura Posey, Jacob Albert Posey, Amber Marie Flanigan and husband Andrew, Autumn Rene Coffey and husband Andy, and Justine Elena LeGrand and husband William; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Willie Mae Janda.
